On behalf of myself, my staff and the students of Sage Arts, I would like to thank everyone who participated in making 2004 a great year. I look forward to seeing you in class in 2005! What's your New Year resolution? Goal setting is a very important skill to develop. It is the first step in being successful in any endeavor. It is one thing to simply say that you would like to accomplish something, it's quite another to make that thing happen. Here are a few tips make your New Year goals a reality: 1. Write it down. In order for a goal to be realized, it must first be written down. By writing down your goals, you commit to it further than 2. Tell friends. By telling your friends what your goals are for this year, you begin to put yourself on the line, and will foster encouragement from them. This can make the difference when things are difficult. 3. List of Requirements. Make a list of things that have to happen in order for you to attain that goal. Put these in chronological order - what has to come first? 4. Plan your week. Treat each requirement as its own goal. Set deadlines for yourself for each requirement. 5. Keep it in front of you. Writing something down is of no use if you lose the piece of paper you wrote it on. Place your list of goals somewhere that you will see it everyday. Review this list often. 6. Start today. Every time you sit down in front of that list, take a step towards achieving it. It's easy to get bogged down by all the other activities in everyday life. A wise teacher once told his students that everything in life is strategically designed to interfere with your goals. Remember, it will never be easier to begin than it is right now. Don't let this year's wishes be unrealized in 2006. Upcoming Events Jan-3 & 5-2005 Youth Martial Arts Testing Begins Testing Fees are $25 per student. Good Luck.
